A platform storage bed frame is an easy way to renovate your bedroom, get rid of the annoying creaks that accompany metal spring beds and allow you to achieve the rest of the perfect night. Making your own platform bed is not only economical it allows you to add a personal touch, such as a unique headboard if you want a modern look or use an antique door to add a vintage touch. Remember to take into account the size of the bed before buying and cutting your materials, since your comfort is your final goal and the size of the plot also determines the size of other bedroom decor items such as area rugs.
Bed frames may seem like a waste: all that cubic footage covered with draping bedding, without contributing anything to the neatness or storage in the room. By replacing a double bed frame with a king storage bed, you can add more than 30 cubic feet of accessible storage. Set aside an afternoon for this project, which is easily available to novices and intermediate carpenters. Sand all surfaces of your wood using grain sandpaper. Establish a long and a short beam in a beam of L, with the end of the long beam against the face of the short. Screw the other one with two wood screws.

Add the second short beam to the free end of the long beam, turning your L into a square-off C. Screw kits together as you did the first. Slide the second wooden long beam between the arms bed of the C until it runs parallel to the other long beam. The centers of the beams should be 16 inches apart. Screw bed with storage underneath in place as in the previous steps. Slide the shortest beam between the arms of the C, which runs parallel to the short beams and on the open side of the frame. It must be the same distance from either arm. Screw in place.
Set up a sheet of plywood in the frame so that it covers the open side and its inner edge runs along the middle of the central support beam. Screw in place with a screw in each corner. Set the other sheet of plywood to cover the rest of the fabric bed frame with storage. Attach to the first leaf using the tree hinges: one near each edge and one at the center. Sand all exposed wood with fine-grained sandpaper, you can put baskets or boxes under the open side of the frame, and use the hinge storage on the opposite side for seasonal items such as sporting goods and swimsuits.
